Happy Fall! Time is flying around here in the Art room and we've been busy busy busy!
Here's what we've been up to:
*Middle School
- 8th Grade Core Art has been learning all about Modern Art! We are now diving into 20th cenutry architecture, and learning our way around Google Sketchup.
- 6th Grade 3D Sculpture: Our 3D artists have created postcards and wire trees. When they return from outdoor lab we will be using plaster to make some masks!
*Elementary
- Kindergarten artists are now color experts! Check out their flower color wheels in the hallway!
- 1st graders just finished being architects and designing their own buildings with geometric shapes.
- 2nd graders have been busy creating realistic Fall leaves, and are now making story quilts a la Faith Ringgold.
- 3rd Grade=3D. 3rd graders learned all about 3D shapes, and 3D shading. We are now moving on to Native American art!
- 4th Grade started off the year with African Art and creating their own Adinkra stamps. They will be starting Art of China next time and creating clay dragons!
- 5th Grade has their "calacas" (skulls) bright and ready for Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) held in November! We studied the history behind this Mexican holiday and how it relates to their unit on Aztecs and Mayans.
Thanks for stopping by!
