News from the Art Room Nov/Dec:
Block 3 is starting up and here’s what we are up to-
*6th Grade Core Knowledge: 6th
grade artists will be learning about Ancient Greece and Rome in the upcoming
months, and the characteristics of these periods. We’ll create our own
Greek myth vases, and Roman mosaics. We will also begin to take a look at
Renaissance art before winter break, and the invention of perspective in art.
*6/7 Mixed Media: In this class, we will be
exploring a variety of art media and how to use them in a creative way together.
We’ll be combining painting, drawing, collage, pastels, recycled materials,
clay and more to create self-portraits, landscapes, word art and more.
*8th Graphic Design: 8th
grade students will begin to learn the basics of graphic arts through logo
designs, and shoe/tshirt designs. We will also begin to explore the
fundamentals of Photoshop, and creating graphic art with computers.
