Fall in the Art Room!

Happy fall!  We have been busy in the art room so far this year, and here's a sneak peek!  If you would like to view more, there are 6th-8th grade displays up in both the middle school hallway and office display case.  Rotating displays are occurring in the elementary halls as well.  Here's a bit of a preview in case you haven't made it in to see the great work happening!

With the end of the trimester quickly approaching, please remind your middle school student to pick up their projects from the art room.  I am already starting to keep both middle and elementary work for the Spring Art Show, so that artwork will be returned in late spring.  Also, the art room is in desperate need of extra rags!  If you have any old but clean towels or fabric for rags that we could recycle for you, please send them to Mrs. Fingland!

Take care,
Mrs. Fingland

Welcome to WWA Art!

Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year!  My name is Katie Fingland and I am WWA's K-8 Art teacher.
The best ways to get general information about what we are doing in the classroom is by checking out this blog.  You may follow this blog, or have email notification sent to you when it is updated (look for those links on the right of this page).  For more specific questions, please email me at kfingland@wwacademy.org, or you can always call the school and ask for extension 182.  To look at specific grade level pictures and information, click on the desired grade level link to the right, under the heading "Pages".

Throughout the year (especially in the Spring with our Art Show), I will need volunteers to help with miscellaneous items in and out of the art room.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact me and we can work a time out.  In addition to volunteers, the art room is always in need of various "stuff" to use for projects.  I will post a "Wish List" below, but if you ever find that you are recycling or getting rid of something we might be able to use, please let me know.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know a little bit more about myself and the art room.  I am grateful to work in such a supportive community, as well as work with all of your artists!  I hope you enjoyed your summer and look forward to a wonderfully creative school year.

Take Care,
Mrs. Fingland

Happy Spring!

Congratulations Artists!
A big congratulations to our student artists who were featured in this year’s Art Show!  Your work brightened the hallways and looked amazing!  From paintings, drawings, sculptures, and more, our WWA students produced high quality and creative works for all to enjoy.  Thank you artists for your hard work and effort in art, keep up the great work!  Also, thank you to the students and staff that helped set up the show!  All artwork will be returned to students before the end of April.
